It's a story of a man, his brother, and his girlfriend trapped in a room together after the world ends. They decide to end their own lives after weeks of no news or word from the outside, but before they do they have to come clean to each other about their past differences. It's a kind of dark indi film a friend of mine wrote/produced/directed. I was cinematographer and editor on the project.

What does a script supervisor actually do? The script writer writes the thing (boy, I'm on fire today) but a supervisor. I thought having the writer on set, or someone that can write, would negate the need. Perhaps. I'm still not much help. Erses.

Cell phones, great things in principle but the greedy bastards who run it really fuck it up. I only ever use 'Pay as you go' that way I'm in charge. None of this cntract shite. Bollox to it.

A script supervisor is a person who's main job is to make sure that continuity isn't fucked up. They watch for what prop is where during a take, and that it doesn't get moved around from one shot to the next so that in the movie's timeline, everything is sequential. Plus they line the script, which means after each shot, they draw a line through the script that tells the editor what part of the script a certain shot is covering, as well as who's on screen at that time, plus they note any problems with a take. It's really an invaluable tool to editors, but most low-budget productions cut them first because they're thought of as the most expendible person on set.

Sadler DOES rule. He's a kick ass guy in person. He showed up on time, gave great performances, and was totally cool with everyone on set, even though we had him crammed in a corner of a bathroom for like 4 hours straight! True professional.

I like the name though, my middle name is Lappi so in the end it would be Fitzgerald Lappi Fitzpatrick. Then I could become a duke or something so I could get esquire at the end of it... if that's how you get esquire. I'm not too sure. Maybe you just give it to yourself. If so I'm totally getting it put on today.

I'd like to see the comic though. sounds cool. I'm always into violence for no reason. Like Takeshi Miike films.

Question, while watching Hero did you get a hankering to get up and watch Rocky 4 instead? I did and it tainted my enjoyment of the film but that scene with Jet-Li, the woman and the arrows was just out of this world.

Takeshi Miike - now I like to think I'm violent but concede I've got shit on him. The man's not right - bless him.

I'll dig out the comic sometime, scan and upload the images. I'll have to find out what happened to the whole thing though. My follow up was just as violent but never got published becasue the artist never finished the thing. Swine. There were naked dudes, naked angels and three-headed sharks and everything!

Cool, what's the film about. Is it on the web? Is there a rough cut?

And is your optometrist like my former one in that:

1. He was alleged to have ripped off the health service resulting in a court case - which he won.
2. He's been charged with assaulting a 15 year old girl.
3. He cheated on his wife with another married woman.
4. He got planted by the married woman's husband who made the 700 mile round trip just to punch out his lights.
5. His wife divorced him and won control of his practise.
6. And he had to leave the island.

We're currently working on a website for the film, and we're just about finished working on a trailer for the film. It should be up in about a week or so. I'll post with it later on. We're trying to get it in to festivals, but we need to get the rough cut finished before we can enter, and the deadlines for a lot of festivals are about to expire. So, we're hoping for a few January festivals or so.
The film itself is about 3 people, a man with his girlfriend and his brother, who are trapped in one room. We don't know why, but they can't leave and have lived there for months. They finally decide to take the only way out by killing themselves, but not before they rid themselves of all the bad blood between them, which leads to trouble. It's an interesting little character study.
