Douglas dog died this afternoon whilst asleep. He was 18 years old and was loved very much by everyone who met him. He'd been in fine health, but I guess it was just his time. I will miss him very much as he had been a wonderful companion and pet for many years xxx

sorry to hear that. i had a cocker spaniel for 14 years and he had just the best nature - still miss the hell out of him and the companionship i got from him. there ARE people who don't 'get' attachment to animals, dogs especially - and i don't get them. much of the time i preferred my dog's company to that of other people. . .
