I am suck a fucking moron. I just shaved my mustache, which I've had for like close to seven years. Why in God's name did I do this to myself? I feel like a man who just lost his left nut or something - part of his sense of identity is forever gone.
OK, so XBOX or Play Station 2? I have a MAJOR surplus of cash right now and instead of paying off debt, like any sane man would do, I wish to purchase a new gaming console. Help me out here. I know NOTHING about them except XBOX has better graphics and a built in memory card, and PS2 has a hell of a lot more games.
I feel kind of sick. One of my tenants vacated today. She only gave ten days notice, but is required to give thirty days notice. So she is ineligible to get her deposit back, which sucks cause she needs the money. Her husband has cancer and she has financial problems and all. If I could give it back to her, I would, but I absolutely can't. This is one of those; it's her or me, and, frankly, it's not going to be me. Life fucks me over enough as it is, I don't need to help it. She thinks she has a court case because some repairs didn't get done under the old Property Manager, but she failed to give written notice of this within thirty days (they did like nine months later, to me, but by then it was too late). Besides, most of the repairs were for things she so obviously broke herself. Now I get to go to court for nothing. Plus some of her furniture got mold damage, which she expects the owner of the property to pay for because she didn't bother to get renter's insurance. That's kind of why you need renter's insurance. I don't have it because I keep all my irreplaceables in a relatives safe. Frankly, I could give less of a fuck about everything in my apart (save my pets, but they'd never be covered). So this poor old lady who has been a relatively model tenant, is losing her entire deposit plus some good furniture all because she didn't bother to get insurance and read the lease. The sad thing is she has all these kids who take care of her, all of them older then me, who were real shitty when they lived there, to her, and now that she's in a bad spot they're trying to act all like the good kids and shit. When, really, it's their fault - in a way. At least that's how I see it - I take damn good care of the elderly people in my life. I dunno. This is the part of my job that keeps me up nights. While I can't give her her money back, or replace her furniture, I am going to break some of my bosses rules and not file a broken lease on her record or anything like that - just to help her out in the future. I'll even be so kind as to give her a good recommendation should I get a call.
Oh, one of our tenants is going to sue us and will actually win. His porch broke and he sprained a rib (LOL!) and can't go to work because of it. I laugh because I've cracked and bruised and sprained and done everything short of breaking my ribs and I never bitched half as much as this guy about it. Maybe I had to take a day off of work, but the way he's complaining you'd think he had a spear stuck in his chest. He even called to complain "I missed the fucking Cowboy's game cause of this" and I, stupidly, asked, "Your ribs hurt so bad that you couldn't pick up the remote control, but you can pick up the phone?" (it's stupid cause that's the kind of shit that'll make me look bad in court). Anyways, he's not really hurt, according to the doctors, but because the porch broke he's going to get something out of it. Chances are he's going to use this as a way to break the lease. If that happens, I will file a broken lease on him and also put a collection agency on him for the back porch he covered with spray paint (while painting something else) and the blue paint splattered all over the back of the house (???). The thing is, the finish of the house isn't painted, so I can't just paint over it. I have to replace the whole damn sheet of wood.
I miss my mustache, and I'm out of wine. Though those pain killers my buddy gave me are quite nice. Not as strong as I remember, unfortunately, and it's too late to double up on them. Or is it? Yeah, it probably is. Maybe I'll just drink a few beers to help me sleep (I need good sleep because tomorrow's going to suck - I didn't do any studying for either test, I have too much work packed into too short of a day, and there's rain every-fucking-where...course if it keeps raining through tomorrow I can cut half the work from my roster).
