Dear Lord, I had twenty-something people call me this morning. I didn't answer but the last few, but this fucking cell phone has been ringing all damn morning. I loathe cellular phones. They are destroying our society. The ability to have a quiet, private moment while driving to a restaurant or show or store is destroyed; now anyone, anytime, can get a hold of you with the push of a button. You can turn off your cell phone, of course, but some people, like me, can't do this because of the fact that our cell phone is our livelihood. Without it, my business would suffer and I'd be out a lot of money. So it's an enabler, in a profound way, but in the same way it's a destroyer of my privacy.
Confusing to the last, I suppose...
Well, I was up late. So late, in fact, I made myself have a glass of wine when the sun started peaking up over the horizon. This helped me get to sleep, and it would have been great sleep, if my damn cell phone hadn't continuously rang the whole time.
Today I need to show a few houses. No work to do, really, unless I want to. Probably I do all the work I have tomorrow, just so I can have a second day off (or something resembling off, since I'm still technically doing work).
I'm sleepy.
