I just finally watched "Fahrenheit 9/11". I'm extraordinarily pissed off. See, I knew a lot of this stuff already, so the only really huge shock was just HOW much the Saudi Royal Family was involved in our country. They own upwards of 7% of the American economy. Jesus Christ, that's almost a tenth of our economy in the hands of a foreign ROYAL FAMILY - a foreign MONARCHY! I also knew that the Bush family had strong ties to the Saudis; but I didn't know that so did everyone else in Bush's Administration with the exceptions of Powell and Rice (poor Powell, I still feel sorry for that poor bastard...he was going places and took a gamble on this juggernaut of a regime and he lost in a very big way...).
Why is it the best Presidents are always assassinated and the worst, most evil, vile, despicable Presidents are always reelected? I swear to Christ if something bad happens to Bush, or even if he loses the election, I will have the biggest fucking party you've ever seen at my apartment! I'll even buy a whole case of wine and a couple blocks of Velvetta so we celebrate with some class (OK, maybe I'll go so far as a block of cheap cheddar cheese, but don't push your luck
).
Oh, and the new "Dawn of the Dead" sucked worse then my worst fears would have let me believe. Am going to write up on essay at how the movie failed (there are some glaring problems with this movie; it is, after all, a genre film and the director made some incredible mistakes - namely among them is the size of the cast of characters. The film was too short to properly develop them, but didn't attempt to leave them flat and pseudomysterious as most zombie movies do. So we kind of get to know them, but not really. The effect was nauseating and....well...I'll save the rest of this for later, better not get started just yet).
