Grandma is still dead. 
Bought Grandpa a big honkin' bottle of Jim Beam and decided to pick myself up a bottle of Jack Daniels while I was there. Jim Beam = good, smooth, kick ass whiskey. Jack Daniels = disgusting, rather-drink-nail-polish whiskey. Now I'm stuck with a bottle of JD. Fuck.
The urn we got for my grandma's ashes was kick ass. Made by a family friend who is more like family then just friend. He's a local Hill Country artist (wood work only). BTW, the Texas Hill Country is kind of the Hamptons of the South sans the ocean. He makes everything by hand from rescued wood.
I also bought my oldest brother a handmade candle holder (as wedding present) modeled after the one's the settlers in Jamestown (the OG American settlement) used. Not only that, but it was made from an old live oak tree that has a profound meaning to my family (long story). I didn't know this when I picked it out. Talk about Karma.
Need to quit smoking.
Oh, I went to ROSS and bought a bunch of super cheap, but kick ass dress shirts and a brown belt. Feels good to own some good dress shirts, since now-a-days I dress all professional and businesslike. Will probably go get a bunch more with my next bonus check. Did pretty good this month, moneywise. In fact, did too good. I had to push some of the money I earned over into next month's paycheck because of the number of houses vacant and it being tax session my bossman needed me to do him the favor. More then happy to do it cause next month I might need it more. Either way, over the next few months I stand to make over two grand in bonus checks and another two grand in side work. Pretty good if you ask me, on top of my regular salary and labor checks.
Oh, and I made the Dean's List at college. Funny; I hardly even go anymore.
This trying to take my mind off of my Grandma by talking about other stuff isn't working so well....still need to call my sister and let her know. Well, she doesn't take my calls, so I need to tell her through my Aunt, the intermediary. Fuckin' hell, what a shitty family I live in.

As for your money situation, try to stay ahead of the game. I wish I had two hundred in side work. Fuck, I wish I had twenty in side work.
