"If you've got nothing nice to say...say it really, really loud."
Decided to add something I just jotted down on a napkin...
Bands that Changed My Life
TOOL
the Doors
Pink Floyd
Ani DiFranco
Massive Attack
Jefferson Airplane
Guns and Roses
Michael Jackson
Violent Femmes
Metallica
Queen
This is in no particular order. Just when I think to defining moments of my life revolving around music, these are the bands that come to mind. Massive Attack opened my eyes to electronica/techno. Tool just opened my fucking mind. period. Violent Femmes got me a lot of action (
). Metallica taught me to rock. the Doors opened my eyes. Ani DiFranco opened my soul. Pink Floyd redefined my sense of reality. GnR; if it wasn't for Axl Rose, the band would have been nothing, but BECAUSE of Axl Rose the band could never have reached their full potential... Queen...what can I say about Queen? They are second only to Tool, and it's a fucking close second...
So I have a question for ya'll.
I found a not-so-old outline of my last book (which I lost when my PC crashed - story of my fucking life). I was wondering what everyone thought of me rewritting it from memory.
So the story was about two best friends (brothers practically) who end up being uber successful in the porn industry. They go from two-bit drug dealing, car stealing, wanna-be thugs to super rich porn kings in not even two years. It was a story of love; their love for each other (their relationship was one of mutual dependence and love - not gay, fuckers, but like two brothers who grew up with no family). One of 'em is punch-drunk and relies on the other, who is emotionally dependent on taking care of monsignour punch-drunk.
The smart one falls in love with a girl, makes a movie with her (pseudo-porn) that is unbelieveably successful. it even gets tons of play in art houses. so, yeah, it's kind of a story of them dealing with success, but more so a story of them learning to live with their own souls. they have to come to terms with their lives, their pasts, their futures. both are seriously fucked up in the heads (who isnt?), and a lot of the people they cross paths with are. the pace is like the ocean; waves - highs and lows and highs and lows, cyclic.
I've had some interest in publishing it, but am more worried if it's worth pursuing again. money is nice, yeah, but fuck, i'm more worried about putting my name on it (probably 95% of the stuff I write I write for fun - not for anyone to read, even myself).
be that as it may, it'd be a while before i got to it. i'm working on a pitch for a miniseries on a cable network. this project, honestly, is something i much more passionate about than anything (as it'll be a precursor to a novel i've wanted to write for years and years and years and just couldn't figure out how to start or end...).
any advice would be great.

Yes, I'm pissed again! I'm pissed beyond words!
And this time, I am pissed at ONE FUCKING PERSON! ME.
I just spent almost twelve months writing a fucking book, half a joke, half as serious venture that HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN! What kind of a mother fucking idiotic son of a cock gobbling whore AM I???? twelve months I've been working on this thing, on paper and in my head, and it's all for shit because I didn't bother to check if someone else wrote it already (it's an inevitable progression that it'd be written as a joke - yet i didn't think that I wouldn't be the first...).....
.....................................OK, ok, ok, so in all fairness, this book was published just after I first came up with the idea, but still, that's no fucking excuse....and now i've wasted all this time....i still think my version is way cooler and more serious and better, but it's the principal of the thing......................................
Christ almighty, more bad news....Dennis Hopper is going to be in the new George Romero movie....he's the absolute LAST actor I'd want to see in a Romero movie....this is horrible news; the death knell of a movie I was positive couldn't suck....
i'm going to lay in bed and cry myself to sleep...
