So the San Francisco Giants are currently number one in place for the National League Wild Card spot. Meaning they stand a very good chance of ending up in the World Series (my life's mission has been to see the Giant's win a World Series...the last time they were there I watched every second of every game, and remembered it all...a rare occurence with someone like myself).
Anyone watch the Houston Astros v. Philadelphia Phillies game tonight!?!? (rhetorical question). Jesus, if Roger Clemens isn't the 90s version of Pet Rose, I don't know who is. Everytime I watch Clemens play I just keep thinking "charlie hustle, charlie hustle" (if you're a die hard baseball fan, that makes a lot of sense). Basically what it means is Pete Rose used to be called "Charlie Hustle" before he disgraced his name and his sport (as a coach he bet AGAINST his team - which is about the worst thing a pro ball coach can do...for this reason and this reason ONLY he is barred from the Baseball Hall of Fame, which many of us feel is a shame, because he was the best of the best). They called him Charlie Hustle because he NEVER gave less than 110%. NOT ONCE. Even when he was walked and sent to first base, he ran all out. Most players just kind of jog, but he'd run. That's how he played ball - all out, no holds barred. He was an inspiration.
Roger Clemens is just like that. He's playing injured, yet is giving even more effort on the field just to spite his injury. Some of the plays he's doing are beyond men half his age (he's past retirement age...last year he swore he was through, yet here he is again this year; playing as good as ever. That is so rare it's freaky - a player his age with so much determination, skill and energy...it's awe-inspiring, really).
OK, so the secret's out - I'm a baseball nut. I hate football. Too many fucking rules. Shit, I wish baseball would lose some of their more strict rules. I've seen more players thrown out of games this year than ever before. Used to be two players could scream obscenities at each other without more than a warning from the umpire; now both are thrown out of the game. Kind of takes away from the spark of the game. I love watching the dugouts empty onto the field and dozens and dozens of huge, burly ball players knocking the hell out of each other. It's like watching NASCAR - who gives a fuck who had the fastest 123rd lap of 500 laps - let's see some accidents.

I've gone whaling before. I'm not proud of it but I had just gotten off a long hitch offshore and I needed to releave myself.
That's too bad about it being the best time to fish right after I leave. We'll work it out tho.
Look at the shitleonardo47 wrote in my journal. I've never spoken to this dood before and he comes up with this shit. I'm pissed. He doesn't know me at all! Do you think I'm a dilletante?
