Bought a Ball Python yesterday. He's about fourteen inches long. Am going to buy a female later this week, or early next week and see if I can't breed them.
Ran across a fucking crazy car accident yesterday about an hour before I bought the snake. A semi lost control and went across the median on the highway and slammed into a pickup truck in the opposite lane. The truck exploded.
The driver had 3rd degree burns on 30 percent of his body (head, arms and upper torso) and had a skull fracture. When my old man (an ex-EMT Captain) and I came on him his skin was all peeled off and his blood pressure was about fifty (meaning he was in DEEP shock). His passenger wasn't that bad, though he was burned and tore up pretty bad. Luckily we didn't have to do any rescue breathing or anything. EMS showed up pretty quickly and we left.
Seems like everytime we come back from Elmendorf we run across some weird accident like that. The adrenaline rush you get doing stuff like that rocks, maybe I will become an EMT after all.
Oh yeah, I found this AWESOME business in Boerne (about an hour from my house) that breeds super rare and exotic snakes. Best of all, they tend to hire a lot of people who want experience in that kind of stuff. Having been around that kind of stuff for most of my childhood, I think it would kick some serious ass to get to work with some of the most rare snakes in the world. Also, working with this guy, if I get the chance, would make it that much easier for me to get my hands on a Green Tree Python (they're beautiful, super mean, and even more expensive...but I really want one...). Some of these snakes he breeds sell for thirty thousand or more EACH. How 'bout them apples?
