It makes me sad that so many people love to pick and choose which parts of our constitution should be upheld.

6.2 miles in 65 minutes

It's a little over the 10min mile mark but a definite good start to my first serious run since high school.

Now it's off to look for furniture for my buddies place. West Elm the nice ikea? We shall see.

Weighing the options of what to do this weekend.
BBQ with the college friends on sunday is a definite go.
Thinking of joing the training program for the la marathon. They meet Saturday. I figure if I'm going to get back into running a goal would make everything more interesting.
Movie on friday? If I can get a ticket.

in the end, its really really worth it. the last one was one of the best 2 or 3 parties i've been to all year.

Back from hiking.

-Went into Agnew Meadows on thursday.
-Hiked 20 miles in four days
-Climbed a few thousand vertical feet
-Had an alpine lake to ourselves

It's so quiet out there. Thank god the ring in my ears adjusts.

There may be some photos at some point, all I had with me was a disposable, though, so no promises.

PS thanks for the hat...

seriously likin the profile pick, but whatevah..you know

Kaiju was seriously fun. It took a bit for me to grasp who I should be cheering for. But, in the end, I got it as usual.

yeah, I had a little layover, but i'll be down there in Feb, at which time we will rejoice over a refreshing cocktail. smile

It's surprisingly hard to find a wool cap in Los Angeles this time of year. I need to track one down before tomorrow night so I will have it for my hike in mammoth.
Anyone have suggestions? Maybe a good hat store on the west side?

yes yes, I realize Santa Barbara is central california, but most people don't make the subtle distinction. Plus, it feels like being in socal: the people, the weather, the people....feels eons away from norcal.

grrr, I hate moving.

From my coworker:
How to start each day with a positive outlook:
1. Open a new file in your PC.
2. Name it "George W. Bush"
3. Send it to the trash.
4. Empty the trash.
5. Your PC will ask you, "Do you really want to get rid of George W. Bush?"
6. Answer calmly, "yes" and press the mouse button firmly.
7. Feel...

I haven't touched my car since Sunday, there's something wonderful about living close enough to work to ride the bike.

This streak of environmental friendliness will be broken tonight, however, when I head over to Jumbo's to pour drinks down my gullet and ogle the pretty ladies.

Ooh! You saw Brian Setzer in Santa Monica? shocked
I go there a lot, why haven't I seen him frown

I think that's why I like him so much. It's not an act with him.
Remember the Stray Cats days? I missed them when they had a reunion at the Hootenanny.

I actually enjoy not driving. I'd rather walk wink

At the beach for a week.... wait, that makes no sense, I'm always at the beach.

At a different beach for a week. There will be no internet at this other beach. It will be lovely.

See you on the flip side.

yeah we had a nice time up there. Calistoga is an odd combo of really richy snobby types and the people who cater to them, and then honky backwoods white trash types. Quite an interesting mix.

listen, fancypants...
-so, you're back, then?

Friday can't come quickly enough.

Planning to fill the intervening time with activities both necessary and entertaining, but I would much rather get straight down to the lake side lounging (beer in hand of course).

Started getting a lack of caffeine headache, the I overdosed it. Now I have a too much caffeine headache. It's a caprecious and evil drug.
