A converstaion at work last week:

Boss Lady: Before our meeting today, I need to confess something to you.
Me: Alright.
Boss Lady: In conversations, I've been saying something, and I want to let you know about it so you won't get angry with me if it slips out while you're around.
Me: ... Alright ...
Boss Lady: I've been calling you, "The Pirate"
Me: Awesome... really?
Boss Lady: Yeah. I don't mean it in a ... um ...mean way.
Me: Nonono it's totally cool. I actually shaved it this way for a Pirate Party
Boss Lady: Woah. Great then. I just didn't want it to slip out during one of these meetings and for you to take it badly.
Me:It's perfectly fine, [Another Manager]'s been threatening to buy me a tri-corner hat with a feather since pretty much my first day on this project
Boss Lady: Okay then, I don't feel so bad now.

[End Scene]


And keeping in the pirate spirit, a co-worker mentioned to me that N.C. State's current student body president was elected on the platform I am a Pirate
