So, yesterday I was standing on the metro platform when a sudden gust of wind billowed my t-shirt out. This split-second was just long enough for a BEE to fly UNDER MY SHIRT. I could feel the bastard flying around in there, bouncing around on my chest. So there I am, publicly freaking out, ripping at my clothes, and getting stung to shit.

My God I'm tired. I feel great though.
First I played Ultimate Frisbee for two hours, then a friend and I biked around the Capitol Mall for an hour, checking out the Vietnam and Lincoln Memorials. Then we biked back here, clear accross town.

Hey stranger. Whatcha been up to?
armytodds:
Hey! Thanks for commenting in my journal. We live near DC but have not ventured forth to do the tourist thing. So far I've seen Annapolis because I have friends there (absolutely beautiful place)...and Fort Meade, where hubby is stationed. I've only been here for a couple months so that will be my excuse.
I'm a threatre person too. I was a property mistress for a couple years in college. And I acted in one play, "Crimes of the Heart" as Meg. My hubby was technical assistant/lighting, sound, etc. And in high school I was always volunteering for backstage and design.
I always wuss out with auditions. I don't know why. Once you breeze through that and start rehersal is nothing but fun...dunno...I will get into it again ...someday...

Things are looking up.
I think.
I'm still more than ready for the weekend.

Getting back into school? Just from the summer though. This is my 3rd year back. Only 4 more after this to go. *sigh*
Glad to hear things are looking up.

It's been a shitty day.
After a night of vivid, terrifying dreams, I woke up with a feeling of dread that never faded. Nothing has gone quite right all day.
I'm off to sleep now.
Thanks to Boygeorgeismymom for making me laugh at the end of it all.

aww, cheer up hun!
Whooooo hooooo!!!!
After three months of non-functioning badness, my ps2 is up and working again!
All it took was a pocket knife, a screwdriver, cotton swabs, a little rubbing alchohol, and the complete destruction of my warrenty!
Now excuse me, I'm off to make up three months of lost time...

Did you hear? Valve picked up Duke Nukem Forever.

I'll believe it when I see it.
And yes, I was making a joke.
And yes, I was making a joke.
I'll be down for most of the day today. I was moving my computer desk dowstairs, when it slipped, and when I twisted to stop it, I wrenched the hell out of my lower back.
On the other hand, I finally got some use out of having a massuse for a roommate. He snapped the joint back in place in about 10 seconds flat. Now...

no my night was totally not worth the hangover I had... but, it was kinda fun..so I guess that's enough, n-est-ce pas??

I completely agree with your comment about sexuality. It is fluid. I've never been much for labels, certainly. But then...I'm from those funny theatre folk LOL...and that open minded and often wild and absurd atmosphere is commonplace for me...given the right circumstances and lower the inhibitions... God knows what people will do hehhee.
Not much of an update today.
Just wanted to say "hi" to everybody in SG-land.
"Hi."
Now I must sleep.

I got your comment on my journal. Funny you are also from Oregon and in DC. How long have you been here? I absolutely hate it here. I can't wait to get out of here. There are a lot of cities I would move to - but I'd prefer the Pacific Northwet (Portland, Seattle, etc.). Anyway. I don't go out much here - due to the fact that I've developed Asthma (I think pollution) and I can't be in cigarette smoke. So, I'm now a boring old person or something like that.
BUT - to my brand. I hope to get a picture. It is large and I can't get it in one myself with my digital camera. It is also still healing and doesn't look great yet.
As to the bdsm scene. I think the Baltimore scene is better for young persons. Occassionally there are good pansexual events at the Playhouse via the BES group there. Sometimes they have them at The Crucible. The Black Rose group I wouldn't recommend to anyone unless they were white heterosexuals over 50 years old and then with reservations. You may have better luck. I hang out with the queer community pretty much exclusively and the DC Eagle with the Highwaymen's club - which is mostly gay men! Go figure. My closest personal scene friends are mostly dykes and transgendered bois (M to F's). So, I am definately not in the mainstream crowd. I travel to big national events to see people I know and get good play. Again, you might have better luck or it may turn around as I understand it used to be good - but right now, it sucks in my opinon.

After two months of living in this place, I finally got to really talk with our downstairs neighbors. I've lived on the floor above them, in the same house, for so long with hardly any interaction. After a minute of chatting, the husband invited me in for dinner.

Oh, I used to work at teh Dennedy Center in DC. Who you working with? Is Studio Eric Schaeffer's theatre?
armytodds:
I have said the same thing about Howard Dean! He was SO fun!! While others laughed at his little tangent naming off the states...I thought it was...well, funny, but I also thought..."what a groovy president he'd be" ...but it does make me laugh just remembering it.
Yesterday was one of the longest days of my life. I was up 7 to go to work at the office's annual garage sale. I was there till noon.
On the bright side, I've finally met someone, and she's basically adorable. A cutie who was hired for a temp job at the office. We met a couple days ago, momentarily. We really hit it off...

Actually, that's why I changed it so much. To throw any scary rules people off my trail of young-ness.
olsen:
hey, thanks for the faith in me in the theatre group
My first batch of SG swag came today. I wasn't expecting it for another week.
The count:
One tight ass T-shirt, size S, nice and snug. Tre' chic.
One deck of SG cards.
A bunch of stickers that will soon be dispersed around the greated DC area.
What SG merchandise do you have?
Peace.

What a day...
The theatre I work at is having it's annual garage sale, and being an intern (and a strapping young man, if I say so myself), I've been handed alot of the physical labor. Today, some of the other interns and I were sorting out some of the incoming items, when I saw a tattered hardcover book called "Elegent Erotic Stories." Yes, you...

you should have kept the book AND the money! AH! I would have been mad...mainly because I am broke.
Maybe the boards are going through a phase right now and will get better in a month or so...still that's a long time to wait.
