Boring exercise update:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Did another walk/jog, today! I've also been doing crunches and push-ups, though not very many. I figure I'll alternate jog/walking and crunches/push-ups with squats/leg exercises and possibly yoga/plyometrics. Perhaps this way I will get an all-around workout. I'm not quite ready to add the yoga, yet, as I need space to do it and I have to clear...

So, I have a Johnson acoustic guitar that I bought about 10 years ago at a pawn shop in Fayetteville. She's a purdy blue thing with a cutaway and I'm sure she has a name that I can't remember at the moment. My boyfriend at the time taught me a few songs and how to play certain chords, but then we broke up the following...

Keep playing until you're confident that spending the cash on a new one couldn't possibly be a waste. I'll bet you'll be glad you learned on a modest guitar. I have a friend who learned on a beat-up old guitar and he still keeps it around even though he's moved on to a better instrument.

I'd be happy to take a look at it at some point, if you like. I might be able to help a bit.

Definitely get a little humidifier for it. You can undo some of the warping by putting a little moisture back in the wood. Dampits are pretty cheap and work great, but you can make a suitable substitute with a film canister, a hole punch, and a piece of sponge. Just make sure to wring out the sponge and dry off the outside of the canister - you don't want water to actually drip onto the wood, as this will make things worse.

Good luck!

I was informed today (by coworkers) that our school does an Evening of the Arts (which I kind of knew about) and that sometimes teachers perform. I wanna!

But I'm not sure what I would do...?

Game Night was awesome. I drank too much and turned into one of my students, again. (Loud and obnoxious.) But, I think I needed exactly that.

Sorry to all those who endured my drunkenness. Thanks to Schiavona for being awesome!

Hooray for Saturday as a recovery day!

I hate it when things are going reasonably well except for ONE thing. It's always a big thing, too. Like communicating with your partner...

... or a total lack of income. blackeyed

Regarding the commute: no nuts to freeze off = no excuse. wink (In all honesty though, I haven't been biking recently, either...) Which school are you teaching at, btw? (I'm a DA alum.)
marksy:
not communicating w/ your partner leads to over-communicating with oneself... nevr good -

While watching Schiavona's and K_Rex's birds this weekend, I have been playing mad video games. They have a Wii. I want one but really shouldn't have this kind of distraction in my house.

I have discovered that the reason the Resident Evil games are so successful is because they did a fantastic job setting the mood with music and sound effects. I've never...

Does that mean you figured out how to get the Wii working? Wasn't sure if I showed you all the things to do to make it work. I hope the boids haven't given you a hard time. We'll be home tomorrow. Love you and miss you!

I got a couple of apps that make some of my goals easier. I got Runkeeper Pro (free for this month) to help keep track of my running. I also think I can set it to prompt me for the couch to 5K (but I haven't tried yet). There is an android version. I also got Livestrong to help me count calories (I was doing it manually last year). Unfortunately there is not an android version of that one. Look forward to seeing you guys soon. Sorry I missed you before Christmas. I am also thinking of using Mint.com to track my expenses. But it is supposedly not good for forward looking stuff, just backward looking.

LittleFierceOne and I have been married for two whole years and haven't killed each other or gotten divorced, yet. We are well on our way to being in the minority of marriages that last! wink

I love you, honey! *smooches*
munke:
congratulations to the two of you and Merry Christmas!
littlefierceone:
yet... whatever

I know Eddie & Claire said fighting is a sign of a healthy relationship, but still, I think we could use a little less of it.

And, yes, kiss Many Bunches! and many more years!

I am blogging again. I'm not pretending that this time it will last forever, but I have increased the scope of my journal to... um... everything. So, now when I want to update StarWidget, I don't have to come up with some research-filled post about education. Lately, I've been posting videos of cats. Like this one:

That's our cat. She's actually very sweet.

In...
