I have a minute to spit out an update. Well, not literally...
School is going great. I'm busy and exhausted (meetings are tiring... it's surprising how much so). Our classroom looks awesome, and tonight (3:30-6:30) is the meet and greet --- I get to meet my students and their parents in a few hours! I'm so excited. I had one of my methods courses, this morning (math), and I'm looking forward to it. We haven't had much experience teaching math, so it'll be nice to get some practice writing lesson plans and teaching it.
Lessee... LittleFierceOne's been busy, too. Hopefully things for both of us will calm down after this week, when we can breathe, get organized, and get some homework done.
Okay, I need to get some stuff done - but I wanted to give everyone a quick hello and such!
And I haven't heard anything about my mom, really... I keep trying to call down there, but nobody's answering. I'm sure they're busy... I'll try to get up with somebody tonight. I'd like to know what's up before Saturday... I'll probably go visit her if she's still in the hospital.
Take care!!!

ADDITION @ 8:47pm
Finally! A bit of time to sit down and actually think. I called my aunt (who's staying at my mom's while she's in the hospital). They don't really know anything new - she's still in a lot of pain even though they drained the fluid off of her lung, but they still don't know why the fluid was there. She has some swollen lymph nodes - they're still thinking it could be cancer, but the fluid didn't have any cancer cells in it. They're also thinking it might be Lupus, which apparently is similar to and sometimes occurs in patients with Rheumatoid arthritis, which my mother has. Lupus is a disease in which the immune system essentially loses its mind and attacks the body. Kind of like a rogue agent. It's one of those "flare-up" diseases, meaning it can come and go, but there is no cure.
She's still got the enlarged thyroid, too... and will be in the hospital for however long. She'll probably be stuck in the hospital on her birthday, which would suck big, big time. I'll go and visit her, if that's the case. I'll probably visit her on Saturday, too. We'll see - gas isn't cheap, and she needs rest, but I know she would appreciate the company. I was going to call her, tonight, but I think I'll let her rest and call her tomorrow, earlier.
School is still going well... I have a little snag in my student teaching, but it's nothing to do with me. There are two student teachers - me and another girl. It'll be strange, but I think it'll be okay. The other girl is doing her full-time student teaching this semester and graduating in December. I'll be doing my full-time in the spring, so we'll only overlap on Wednesdays. Not ideal, but not horrible, either. Kinda sucks for the kids, I think, because they won't actually have Mrs. Bailey as their teacher, they'll have student teachers all year - gives me more incentive to know what I'm doing.

And best wishes to your mom.
School is just coasting for me so far. Nothing has "really" started.
