I hate it so much when I can't sleep. I'm tired - exhausted - and I haven't had caffeine since 7:00pm, not that it affects me much.
I've rubbed my eyes until they're both bloodshot, which kinda hurts. I just want to curl up with LittleFierceOne and go to sleep, all warm and cozy, but I tried - I can't get my brain to slow down and shush it.
This happens maybe 2 or 3 times a year, without reason. Of course there are times that I can't sleep for one reason or another (stress, caffeine, worked up, angry, excited, etc), but this has no cause. I was so sleepy this afternoon, I was going to take a nap, but didn't. And now I can't.
The strangest thing is that whenever this happens, without fail, everyone around me falls asleep unusually fast. As a matter of fact, I had to put him to bed an hour ago, because he was falling asleep on the floor.
Usually I try to tire myself out to the point where I can't possibly keep my eyes open, and then fall into bed. I'd like to get some sleep before 5am, though.
Maybe I'll meditate...
