It's like having my right hand cut off (maybe left, I'm left handed). As mentioned previously my MacBook Pro had a "shadow" on the left side of the display that had really begun annoying the shit out of me. It looked like user damage but I can't think of a time when it could have happened. After a couple of months of thinking on it I finally took it to a genius bar up in Raleigh. The Genius told me it looked like abuse (not what she called it but what she meant)... HOWEVER... since it is such a new machine (the date in the computer says February though I know I had it replaced in March, and even the February was a replacement from one in Janurary which was also a replacement...) they would fix it. Wow! I really didn't expect them to fix it. Try to get Microsoft or Dell to do that for you!
But being it's in the shop I have been resigned to an older Mac which is actually running Vista (the Mac OS partition is only about 15gb, I made it a windows machine. This three to five business days is gonna be a long stretch

my mini needs help, it's not my speakers this time. the speakers were powered up and I plugged in the cord into the computer and it shorted something. so I actually took it in once to the genius bar and the guy didn't even look at it- he looked it up and said the sound card is part of the logic board or something in that particular mini, so I'm kinda fucked. he gave me some local third party mac people to go to and see if they could do something affordable. then last time when I went in for my iShuffle I mentioned it to this other guy and he said it still could have been another problem maybe beside the logic board and I should bring it in again (of course this can't work out in one trip). at least the ipod was fine I just had to go to settings in the software and reset. shoulda seen that myself, but I dunno it's funny I'm a photographer and I have a great eye for a lot things but so often I just completely don't see shit that is right in front of my face.
