Well, given that my job takes up most of my time I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not going to have time to really pursue my passion for filmmaking like I would have before I took the job and moved. However, I can't stand not doing anything except for work and I really miss photography. That said, I decided that I could afford to finally update my camera . . . I have a Canon 40D and a Rebel T1i . . . so I bought myself a Canon 6D. My first full frame camera and a huge update from my older Canons. I invested in good glass right from the start so I already a 50mm f/1.4, a 24-70 f/2.8L, and a 70-200 f/2.8L. At some point I'd like to get the 16-35 f/2.8L to complete my trifecta that I've always wanted to have. Even though my commission could easily cover the lens this month I'm gonna be a good boy and wait until next month at least before I invest in that last lens.
I've already gotten back in the habit of carrying the camera with me everywhere I go. For years I was always "that guy with the camera" because I always had a camera with me anywhere/anytime. I've just been snapping pics here and there trying to re-familiarize myself with shooting. I forgot a lot over the past couple of years. My goal is to get myself back to shooting human beings but also adding better landscapes to my repertoire. I mean, I do across the street from the ocean and there is some stunning scenery in my territory. I cover most of Virginia and northern North Carolina and I've seen some amazing sights and cursed myself for not having a camera with me. Well, now I do so there's that.
I have to decide where I want to share my photos too. I haven't used Flickr in ages and I'm not sure if I want to go back there or if I want to go somewhere fresh. Any suggestions?
