Here I am at work bored out of my mind yet again. I cant really complain because the job is ridiculously easy and it pays really well but I just want something that is actually going to challenge me instead of make me want to pull out my eyes because I am so bored.

I need some advice from whoever reads this. I am at a stand still here in Greenville not because I am unhappy with the people here (in fact some people here are the only ones keeping me sane and also make me want to stay) or my family but professionally there is absolutely nothing for me here. I get so frustrated with the charm of small town America when that very same charm wears off to reveal complete ignorance and laziness. I will never ever understand the mentality of people especially in the south, who just flat out do not want to better themselves. They are perfectly content staying in a low paying job never pursuing a better education and moving on to see bigger things in this HUGE world. These people are brainwashed into thinking that they are better than everyone else in the world just because they are American but the truth is they have no concept of what an American is because they will never leave their small town.

I am contemplating going back into the cruise line industry. I really enjoyed being able to get out of the US and the all American environment and see new places and meet people from all over the world. I loved being able to discuss the events of the world with someone other than an idiot whose only argument when it comes to ANYTHING is America is the greatest place in the world, everywhere else sucks. Patriotism is not an American invention jackass! The people I met when I was with Princess Cruises became some of the closest friends I could ever had hoped for and only four were American, the rest were from (in no particular order) The Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Portugal, France, Whales, England, Scotland, Ireland, Brazil, Romania etc. The list goes on and on. In addition to meeting all these amazing people I was able to travel to the most beautiful locations as well. I have been to

The Caribbean (Grand Cayman Island, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Tortola, St. Thomas, and San Juan, Puerto Rico)
Alaska ( Whittier, College Fjord, Glacier Bay, Juneau, Ketchikan, Prince William Sound, Skagway, Tracy Arm Fjord)
Canada (Vancouver and Victoria)
Hawaii ( Hilo, Honolulu, Nawiliwili, Kona, Maui)
Mexico (Cozumel, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta)

And there are SO many other places I would love to go to as well and that is the biggest advantage of working in that industry is that you are able to travel and see these things without having to pay for it. The down side of it though is that it can be hard being away from your friends and loved ones back in the states for so long. I admit I at times got extremely homesick. The average contract is about 4 to 6 months that you are on the ship away from home.

So my question to you is this, do you think in your opinion, I should go ahead and try to get back into it? I am considering applying to Crystal Cruises and they are an extremely high class cruise line that travels constantly around the world. I would get to go to the places I have dreamed about ever since I was a kid like China, Japan and Australia. These cruises are not cheap by any means; some of them costing up to about $40,000, $50,000 even as much as $90,000 for a cruise!!! I have heard very good things about the company and that they pay quite well. I am thinking that it would be a very good way for me to knock out a huge chunk of my student loan out and also save some to apply towards my music degree that I am trying to get. So please everyone leave me your thoughts on this, Im just looking for some honest advice. Thanks and sorry this is so long.
