Humbling, absurd moment: So I'm currently ready to go out to the park and go jogging and reading (not at the same time, funny guy/gal) when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I'm wearing these old sweats that I cut the bottoms off of in order to make them long shorts. They are comically ragged, like a theatrical version of ripped pants....

So Valentine's approaches, like a painted-up harlot asking for chocolates and flowers. Naah, not really, but it sure seems that way, esp if you're broken up and fucked up. It'll beeeee, about 6 months now, and though I've never felt V-Day was terribly important in terms of Real Love-- it's to love what Xmas is to Christ, I think-- it's certainly hard to ignore, what...

Get some single friends together and watch horror movies where the lovers are always murdered.
Went to a punk concert, but I felt like a jackass being there alone. Everyone-- I mean everyone-- I saw there was with somebody. I made it through one band and started to get drunk, so I thought I'd head out. 2 more hours of that would've been a bad idea.
So I went home and made a tuna sandwich. Now that's as punk as...

So delicious
Mmmmm..... sun. Hints of Spring. This is a long, dark Winter, and it's nice to get a reminder that this will pass.
Spent the day wandering around Sebastapol, stopping occasionally to read. I wanted to see I Hate Hamlet, but the theatre was closed, with no explanations (maybe an actor got sick... or a commerical callback?).
I'm still trying to decide if I like Santa...

Saw the Black Lips in SF this last week, along with Nobunny and Personal and the Pizzas. The concert was fun. Increasingly, I find myself abou ten years older than the mass of people at the concerts I go to-- which I could give a fuck less about, it'd just be nice to have someone else to go with. (Cue sound of crowd wailing like...

The Life Aquatic... I love this film. And the more that I watch it, the more I love it. Willem Defoe should have his own spin-off film, he makes me almost cry with laughter.
Plus the whole tone of the movie... this kind of existential dread mixed with a cheerful child-like joy in existence itself. And the clothes. And the animated fish! I love this...

I thought The Darjeeling Limited was great. Then again, I also thought The Life Aquatic was Wes Anderson's least appealing offering. Though, maybe Bottle Rocket is a notch lower. Note, I have not seen Fantastic Mr. Fox yet.
For fish and Defoe, I recommend "Fishing with John" episode 4.

That's my favorite "Fishing with John" episode. Too bad that it ended in tragedy.
I've yet to see Darjeeling or Fox. I need to get on that.

By the way, am I the only one in the world who thinks that Kristin Wiig is about as funny as getting two kinds of cancer at once? Everyone seems to love her, but whenever I tune into SNL, she's rampaging around some set, repeating herself and being energetically unfunny.
Yes, I know I need a life. But she still sucks. This is my hateblog...

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus is interesting, and good, and really arresting, visually. I like Terry Gilliam a whole, whole lot. And people who don't are misguided.
Also, his production company is called "Poo Poo Productions." The man is worthy of our love.

Santa Rosa. WTF is there to do in Santa Rosa? I mean, where can you meet cool, literate people in Santa Rosa, short of creepily walking up to random people in a cafe or park or something? I've been roaming the city, checking out the restaurants, going to park and cafes (without accosting people), I know there's gotta be a fuckload of fun, relatively young...

Hello Suicidegirls Community. How, collectively, are you? Thomas Kincaide started little housing communities which reflected his views, his aesthetics, his philosophy. So, will there be Suicide Villas on the outskirts of mid-sized American cities soon? No, I suppose not, that would have some unpleasant connations. Though it'd keep the riff-raff out. And think of the parties, the softball leagues, the holiday parades!
Anyways.... yeah, hello!
