Cold and spacious. The old design was really neat and compact; so, they had to change it... I guess to accommodate newer technology? But there's NO warmth to it, everything has miles of white space to it... It's the difference between a comfortable living room and a dentist's office. Honestly, I'm sure this will have some good things about it, and I'm not against change... but I'm not as inclined to spend as much time here now. It's kind of a shame.
I'd venture to guess that most SG people are really into aesthetics. Did they run this through a test group(s)? Just bummed out about one of my favorite sites... sigh. I'm typing on a virtually all-white page, with a bunch of blocks around it. Gross.
Anyone else feel like I do about this?
Added: God, the more I look at this, it's just awful. I liked to go to the members page and see all the little pictures and samples of the blogs... Now there's like six giant pics and no inkling of what they've written... This is a fucking shame. If I want to see pages like this, I'll go to Ikea's home page. I wonder if I'll renew my membership this time. What a colossal screw-up. (And NO WARNING it was gonna happen, at least that I saw. It was just Hey! We'll be back on Monday and it'll look great! Um, not so much.)
Addendum Two: The Hopefuls Queue has no pictures in it. Just names. Are they fucking kidding me? A line of blocky nicknames going down the side of the screen? Wow, how intriguing; really excited about the new sets... Jesus. I guess I'll stop now; everywhere I turn, I see more suckage. As the old lady said in Princess Bride: "Boo! BOO!"
