Saw something really weird on Saturday. I was driving in Point Reyes to meet up with my hiking group, a beautiful, misty morning; and I come around a curve, and there is an RV engulfed in flames, just an inferno; and a cop car pulled along side it. The cop has a very worried expression on his face, and appears to have drawn his gun, it was hard to tell as I drove by. Plus there was a dapper old man holding a little dog on a leash, talking to the cop.

I guess they closed the road right after that, because the rest of my group was held back for about an hour; so the three of us who made it hiked on alone. We took a wrong turn somewhere, and ended up hiking about 12 miles instead of the planned 9. But is there ever really a "wrong turn" in hiking? (The answer is yes, btw.) Memorable for the amount of cows that I saw, momma cows with their babies, staring us down.

When I drove home, there was only a black stain on the road where the car had been. I hope no one was in it. I just started watching Breaking Bad, so the first thing that occurred to me was "Meth lab!" Maybe it'll be in the news.

Quiet, quiet weekend. Told myself I wasn't gonna drink at all this weekend, but I decided to anyway Saturday night because how much time are you supposed to spend alone in your apartment without doing SOMETHING to make things feel a bit better? I already exercise, read, etc. I do all that good stuff. I try to be as social as possible, too. So I guess sometimes I just need to crack a bottle (I had some weird cherry-chocolate stout-type thing... plus some Jimmy Beam. Shweet shtuff.) Kids, don't follow my example. And stop setting your fuckin' cars on fire.
