I've found that when I talk about myself in a blog, I get far less comments or interest than when I post something neutral. Do you get this? I thought that's what blogging was, mostly - talking about yourself and your own crappity. Am I doing it wrong?

OK so I'm not even officially in the band yet, and already I have a new nickname and a write-up in the paper:
Suedehead in the OC Weekly
FYI - "Wolf Man" is a reference to the movie "That Thing You Do!", in which an experienced studio bassist named Scott "Wolf Man" Pell steps in at the last minute to take over on bass for...

You aren't getting paid? I would have thought you'd been provided a contract, or some sort of financial agreement and such. No?
And what is it that you wish for me to show you, dearest? I typically like to get past the first handshake before I start flashing intimate body parts. I'm rather old-fashioned that way. (Unusual for this website, I know.)
To quote that old showbiz adage, "Always leave 'em wanting more."
And speaking of showbiz...you must be getting pretty excited about your gig tomorrow night!

So I had a great weekend but I hurt my back in San Francisco. I have three shows this weekend, two on the same night. I think I'll have to stay in bed all day today.

Detroiters recall the controversy from the '70s in which Chevrolet failed to realize that their new model, called the Nova, translates from Spanish into English as "Does not go".
Now the Yankees have Ivan Nova, which for them translates into "Does not go to the ALCS".
I'm so glad the Yankees went down. They have so much money, they are like the 1%, and the...

And as per Yankee fandom v. non-fandom, consider this: 18 million people live in NYC; 302 million-ish live in the rest of the country. Eff you, Yanks!

It's interesting to observe the outpouring of love for Steve Jobs. I'd have to say it's distinctly American to express so much emotion for a businessman and inventor. I caught a lot of crap on Facebook for stating that Bill Gates wouldn't get this much love when he passes away. But it's true! Do you "love" Microsoft products like you "love" your iPod or iPhone?...

A friend of mine got so emotional over co-workers being disrespectful about it (making Apple jokes) that she started writing a resignation letter until her boss calmed her down. She was crying and everything. I have a MacBook and an iPhone but I don't know, it's no worse to me than any given movie star dying. I'm just kind of surprised that so many people even know who Steve Jobs is!

I can appreciate his savvy as a businessman, but I haven't quite experienced that sort of attachment or grief. Then again, I only have an iPod at the moment.

I had to let go of a member of my pet family :,(
