For the first time in my life, I am really enjoying being around my family.
You learn to value these people when you get older. You also learn how much they really love you and want you to be around. My self-imposed exile away from them was probably good for both parties during my younger days, but now that I'm maturing (shying away from using terms like "codger"), you come to know they have valuable life experiences to share with you. You can learn from friends and other adult examples, but only your family knows where you came from. And for all of you who think your parents don't care about you....guess again. They do.
If only they didn't live in Michigan where it's so bloody cold and the economy is so crap!
OK, enough reflection for today. Time for a drink.

I am feeling better, as long as I have a steady supply of drugs.

lucky you. My christmas had the oppsosite effect on me. I spent christmas with them for the first time in six years and all it did was remind me of why I never come around. WE actually started screaming at each other in the middle of christmas dinner. Then i left and went with my adopted family and everything was waaayyy better. glad to hear you had a good christmas
