Damn, It's been a while. Where to start.
The girl was in Dallas all last week, helping a friend pack. I got a call about Thursday, she was complaining because there was nothing to do in Dallas. Oddly enough, I always seem to find something to do when I go to Dallas...I think she just missed her friends, homesick and all that.
Nothing amazing happened Monday through Thursday. Friday I left for San Antonio. When I got there I hung out with Josh and Rina for a while, then we went to see "Saw". Fantastic fucking movie!!! It took a while to grow on me, but now I want to see it again. It's just so well done...I don't know of anyone that will ever guess who the killer is without prior knowledge. When the movie revealed who it was, you could har a massive: *gasp* "Oh no...". I liked it ALOT.
Then Saturday Josh decides to take it upon himself to wake me up at 9. (We were up until about 4 playing games, goofing off, etc.) He wanted me to go with him to take Rina to work. So we took here, and I picked up a Norma Jean shirt along the way. Later we went back to pick up Rina and went to Subway. That place always feels dirty, but I always get a really good sandwich...meh.
That night, we headed to Austin to see the Ed Gein show, the reason I came to San Antonio. The entire way to Austin (a little over an hour) Rina and I debated whether they should legalize drugs or not. I won't get too into it...But I was for legalization (and I've never taken anything but pain pills) and she was mildly against it...She felt marijuana should be legal. Then Josh chimed in support of Rina...By the time we got to the show, we were all almost out of a voice.
The show was supposed to start at 7:00, but we got there at 7:30 and they were just starting to set up for Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower. So we went a few doors down to an underground CD store. Then we went to an Adult shop right there, and I started asking a gay guy that worked there about cock rings and these things that stretch your nuts down away from you. It was awesome, but some of those things were ridiculous.
Then the show. THE SHOW!!!! Up first was Plot to Blow up the Eiffel Tower. They played a good set, a little hard to understand, even for me. It was just like a massive wall of sound. Their guitarist and bassist were awesome, nothing really special about the drummer or vocalist. Then up next was Ed Gein.
OH MY GOD.
Three piece band, all of them sing...scream rather. Their drummer was so fucking amazing. My jaw hit the floor as soon as the set started. He just went fucking nuts. They played stuff from "It's a Shame that a Family can be torn apart by something as simple as a pack of wild dogs" and then some stuff from a new full length coming out next summer on Black Market Activities.
After them, we kinda ignored Breather Resist, and went to their merch table and talked to the guys. Really awesome. The bassist designs and prints most of their shirts, posters, and other merch. It was just really awesome. Good people.
Sunday I hung came home, and went to the girls all day. Didn't really do anything for Halloween, she was in a mood. So we went out to eat, then hung around her place. And now...I'm here.
