Okay, I have to start this out with some explaining. This was the first year for Murderfest. So being the first year of any large concert for underground music, it isn't going to be Ozzfest or the Warped Tour...On top of that, it was put on by a 23 year old kid. Cool as fuck of this guy (Mike) to pull it all off...Being his first fest, or really big concert at all, this was huge. Also,...Houston's metal (of any kind) scenes are pretty dead...Some of them are still looking for life, but for the most part, they're gone. So...this wasn't the prime place/time/situation for a fest. On top of that, promotion was lacking...So this is the precursor for my Murderfest experience.

I had a fucking blast!!!! It was so awesome. My friend, his girl, and I got to the Ballroom just in time for Shed for You to go on stage...They rocked out as best they could...but equipment problems kinda fucked them. Soma played a fantastic set...better than some of the bands on the main stages in my opinion...Just fucking rocked their hearts out. After that we (friends & me) hung out with some of the guys from Bodies in the Gears of the Apparatus and Shed for You. Great fucking people...Those guys are amazing. I got up to check out almost every band, and usually came to sit back down during the middle of the sets, because they started to sound the same...but it wasn't my kind of music. Then, a band unknown to me, The Arnolfini Marriage came on...Such a funny set. You could tell the guys were having fun. The singer yelled out "weiner" in the middle of one song...and other random things during others. During the last song the 2 guitarists and the bassists did this corny "gun" shooting action with their guitars...You'd have to have been there, but it was great. Then it was a lull again for an hour or so...I watched the Final Burden, who I liked on CD...but their show was really kinda boring...no movement, bad sound...just...BLAH. So that was kinda dissapointing. Then another two bands...Then the performance of the night...Bodies in the Gears of the Apparatus. The guys fucking killed...It was so amazing. I can barely describe how awesome that band is to see live. Just amazing set.

After the concert we ate at the Waffle House...Mmm...I love me some Waffle House.

Then I drove (at like Midnight) to College Station to hang out with some friends. I came back this afternoon and studied. And I'm now tired as fuck...But I loved every minute of it.
