Time for some photos!!
Me & DoomedByProxy at Airlie Beach
We took a charter boat out to Hardy Reef, which makes up a tiny part of the gigantic Great Barrier Reef! We were warned beforehand that the ocean was going to be choppy, and to take anti-sea sick tablets before setting off.
Adam was a little sick on the way out, while I was enjoying the bumpy ride.
We both went snorkeling. I was really nervous, and after getting in the water, I hyperventilated a little. I have quite the phobia of fish, but I was adamant to give it a go. I'm glad I did.
Adam set out a second time with his under water camera, and even got snapped himself by the scuba photographer!
The water was beautiful despite being in the middle of Winter here!
On the way back it was roughly 30 knots. Very choppy seas. We were getting airborne and slamming back down into the ocean. I vomited.. sausages and bbq sauce and a can of coke. It was NOT pleasant! I was really glad once that moment passed.
Once we were in calmer waters we could venture back up to the top of the boat and enjoy the brief sunset.
Adam had mentioned he'd like to climb the Story Bridge. I also have a phobia of bridges, but I did it anyway! Here's the bridge from the ferry, earlier in the day..
..and me looking a tad nervous actually..
Venturing up the steepest part of the bridge was not enjoyable.. I'm glad it was the first part of the adventure, because everything after that was easy. I really enjoyed it.
We booked a twilight climb which means you catch the sunset and then night time with the city lights.
Coincidentally our climb was on the night of a full moon, and partial lunar eclipse. The views, the sky.. everything.. it was amazing!
Stay tuned for more of Adam's Aussie Adventures!
