and the brutal stretch begins today. i work 3-11 tonight and 8-4 tomorrow. then 9-4 sunday, 3-11 monday and 3-11 tuesday. i had an interesting talk on the phone with my ex-girlfriend. she did her best to apologize for being ridiculously uncivil when we broke up in march, but she's still a little removed from the facts. to put it nicely. i returned some of her stuff i recently found, and hinted that i'd like the remainder of my stuff back, but i doubt she'll send it. what the fuck is that? and how is it that i haven't met anybody with her name in years, then when we break up i literally meet four women in two months who have the same name? strange.

on the bright side, i have gone out on a few dates, and i got past the point where everything reminds you of that person. so that's good. i also have my eye on someone at work, but i'm not sure it's the best idea to dip the pen in company ink. so to speak. i'm sure that will play out some this weekend. for the first time in awhile, i actually have more than one prospect on the dating front. i'm not sure i remember how to do this. i had honestly thought the exgf and i were going to fasten things up long-term. hmmm? it's nice to find my own fate compelling again.

Dating is like riding a bicycle - takes a minute, but eventually you remember how, and inevitably you slip and whack your balls on the crossbar.

Yeah. I know what it's like to compare new relationships to someone that meant a whole lot to me in the past. It's a relief when you get over that, which it looks like you have.

Getting involved with someone at work is tricky. After some debate with myself, my feeling is that life's too short to let something potentially pass you by because of logistics.

I say, "go for it".
