culinary school is winding down and i am looking for an internship that will allow me to work into a full-time position. we are required by the school to complete 99 hours of internship, but the 'career services' department - or job placement program - at my school apparently sucks ass. the chef instructors have all been excellent, i have developed a competitive skill set and feel confident i will succeed once i have a position. but the people in charge of maintaining viable connections to the hotels, casinos and restaurants are COMPLETELY FUCKING USELESS. which sucks, because the school requires the internship. i will be spending every extra hour looking for an internship or a full-time position, as you are allowed to complete the internship through your job if you have one. unfortunately, from the DOZENS of leads i have received from the 'career services' department, not one has been viable. suck. otherwise i might have a full-time position already, and not need to worry about hustling for an internship which pays little or nothing, and may or may not lead to a full-time position. i'm bitching to the culinary director on monday. out of 20 people in the internship, five have full-time positions and don't need to worry. ten are completing internships through two professors at the school who specialize in baking and pastry. then there are five of us who haven't found a job, and are having extreme difficulty finding an internship. yay. in honor of these pressing facts, i offer relevant music.

Interns are cheap, bitch labor. the world needs more of them.
