somehow it always snows when i drive from vegas to new mexico. i started driving yesterday at noon and had more than one obstacle on my trip. just outside of winslow, arizona, three semis had crashed into each other because of wind and dust. traffic was backed up for eight miles on interstate 40 eastbound. we waited for two hours, just sitting in a line on the highway while the patrol officers and orange jumpsuits cleared the accident. i got going again and ran into a sleet storm in gallup, new mexico. fun. when i got to santa fe at almost 1am, there was a blizzard, making road conditions and visibility extremely difficult. i put the bronco in 4wd, but still spun out a couple of times en route to my family's house in the mountains. there's two feet of fresh powder on the property today. sheesh. we're snowed in.
