this is a beautiful thing. while the economy will remain a stern test of barack obama's ability, to see a minority candidate finally elected to the highest office in this country is extremely moving. and long overdue. for the first time in my life, i felt like i was doing the right thing in the voting booth today. i have been a liberal democrat my entire adult life. i voted for clinton twice, gore and kerry. today i feel like i took part in something special, something historic. i'm still one of the cynics, but anyone who can't see that this is a uniquely positive and historic moment in our country is just blind. it is a seminal moment in african-american history, as well. i salute every one of you who got out there and did what you felt was right. good job. i'm not a rah-rah guy, but congratulations america, you got it right today. let's see if we can build on this moment. so long, george bush, history will certainly put you in your place. let's move forward, and keep realistic and achievable goals and ideals in sight, plain and simple. bravo, barack. it's been a long time coming. honest abe is smiling somewhere.
