keeping up with the four bands i started with, the rolling stones released 'exile on main street' in 1972 and 'goat head's soup' in 1973. the who was into 'quadrophenia', a heavy concept album which included the well-known 'love - reign o'er me'. led zeppelin released 'houses of the holy' in 1973, a mega-classic rock-n-roll album without a bad song. and pink floyd released one of the most popular albums of all-time in 1973 ; 'dark side of the moon'.
the year 1973 was huge for a band from boston called aerosmith. they released their debut, self-titled album, another mega-classic. it's mind boggling to me that all three of these later-mention albums all came out in one year. and don't forget david bowie, who released 'the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars' in 1972. elton john was in full effect, releasing 'honky chateau' in 1972 and 'don't shoot me, i'm only the piano player ' and 'goodbye yellow brick road' in 1973. the eagles released their self-titled debut in 1972 and 'desperado' in 1973. lou reed had gone solo, and released his self-titled debut in 1972, as well as 'transformer'.
i'm just scratching the surface, but as you can see, these were high times for rock-n-roll.

i believe 'dark side of the moon' still holds the record for consecutive weeks as a top 100 album, for some 500 weeks from 1973-1984.

Not to worry though, I'm not a design snob or anything. Actually I tend to be rather informal, but fashion and other forms of design are things I've always dabbled in as a sideline for profit so I take an interest.
Sometimes I find Bowie beautiful, sometimes a little scary, which I guess is the appeal. I'm glad he put on a little bit of weight since his Ziggy & Thin White Duke days. He's definitely a man of infinite style and crazy amounts of talent. It's funny you bring him up, I've been checking out a lot of his old performances on youtube lately. Even in his first performance on tv he was the consummate professional and you could tell he was something special.
