_margot_:
He is sooo silent, and she yodels all kinds of nonsense.

It makes me laugh far more than it should
wsoxfan:
I'm dealing 4-8 limit hold-em. I play no limit hold-em there on Sundays and Mondays. I win there pretty consistently. Even so, I'd give up playing one of those nights if offered a chance to deal. The tips are much better in no limit than in the game I deal. As a practical person, I'd take a bird in the hand by dealing no limit and give up one night of playing.

I've tightened up my game considerably over the past two weeks or so with much better results. I've had your advice in mind while doing that. Thanks again.

I hope I have enought discipline to stick with it.

Yes, I know I should be prepared but it is worse than other elections. Maybe part of it is all the partisan reporting. Journalists don't seem to be so interested in reporting just the facts anymore. I mean, how much time is spent on reporters interviewing reporters about their opinions? It's a world unto itself.

the city of las vegas is experiencing a 'hiring freeze' right now. interesting. people won't come out and say they're afraid for their jobs, but you can sense the trepidation when you talk to the human resources people or the executive chefs. it's bizarre when things people don't completely understand begin to affect their pocketbooks. everybody who never had a theory or idea about the...

1972-73

keeping up with the four bands i started with, the rolling stones released 'exile on main street' in 1972 and 'goat head's soup' in 1973. the who was into 'quadrophenia', a heavy concept album which included the well-known 'love - reign o'er me'. led zeppelin released 'houses of the holy' in 1973, a mega-classic rock-n-roll album without a bad song. and pink floyd released...

The designer is a gal named Alena Akhmadullina. Not easy to spell that's for sure. Not sure if I'm so keen on her current collection but loved that one and the way she presents her pieces are amusing.

Not to worry though, I'm not a design snob or anything. Actually I tend to be rather informal, but fashion and other forms of design are things I've always dabbled in as a sideline for profit so I take an interest.

Sometimes I find Bowie beautiful, sometimes a little scary, which I guess is the appeal. I'm glad he put on a little bit of weight since his Ziggy & Thin White Duke days. He's definitely a man of infinite style and crazy amounts of talent. It's funny you bring him up, I've been checking out a lot of his old performances on youtube lately. Even in his first performance on tv he was the consummate professional and you could tell he was something special.

velvet_petal:
Oh gosh. It's not sophisticated, just fun and frivolous, but something which has kept a roof over my head and food in the belly at times. Come on...you wouldn't use the Hector Pimenthel line on one of the rubberheads? What about after last call?

I'm trying to learn guitar but am progressing slowly. I didn't see the part where you asked me about guitar before asking about Hector Pimental. I thought it was just a random question you asked everybody. biggrin

1970-1971

the beatles broke up in 1970. i was born in 1971. disco and funk were young.

four bands essentially define the late 1960's and all of the 1970s for me. there are others, but these four heavyweights are classic rock cornerstones ;

the rolling stones, the who, led zeppelin and pink floyd ; a buncha' fucking brits.

in 1969 the rolling stones released the...

When I used to play drums, my practice set included a lot of Zeppelin, including The Ocean and Achilles' Last Stand. Zeppelin II was my first addiction - I damn near wore out my dad's LP.

don't say what you mean, you might spoil your face.

Thanks for the input. What I was talking about involved no-limit only.

I read your reply a couple of times just to make sure I understood everything. You definitely make some good points. I'll try to implement some, if not all of your suggestions going forward. I appreciate your time and effort.

Hope all is well in your life.
wsoxfan:
Once again, thanks for your helpful advice. I played earlier this evening and implemented some of your suggestions. I did well, mostly because I got paid off several times while possessing monster hands. I did feel more comfortable than I have over the past few weeks. I felt more confident armed with the suggestions that you were kind enough to give me.
