My first Ozzfest was probably the first time in years I've ever been so happy getting sunburned and sweatsoaked while surrounded by burly rednecks. That situation usually implies I'm doing landscaping or construction, which I just don't do anymore. Besides, the chick-to-hick ratio compensated evenly.
I saw Unearth, Lamb Of God, Hatebreed, and Ozzy himself which was enough to make it worth enduring the kind of weather only a fucking iguana should go out in. I was thankful the big-name Wal-Mart-rock bands like Disturbed and System Of A Down went LAST... this gave us time to leave early and beat traffic.
I've had constant fun since joining a metal band. That's just what this project is all about for me... I can't just be that geek making artsy indie laptop noise music all the time... I have to thrash . My styles are rooted in Punk, Hardcore and Metal... if not as much as the whole industrial thing.
Things fell through with the lease of the jewelry studio I'm trying to open. We couldn't get our landlord to bend on the parts of the lease we wanted changed... the hunt is back on for a space. I've narrowed my house hunt down to two properties, though, which is good. One's in Montgomery, one's in P.G., now I'm browsing D.C.. I should have my little piece of the uh-mur-kin' dream by September. Then I can build my studio and charge obscene prices for its use!
