I just found an interesting video about something I don't think I ever thought about much, the differential in a car:

And for those wondering now how that works on a train, where the wheels are connected without a differential a nice explanation by Richard Feynman:

I wish he was still alive, he had such a great way to explain stuff and he was naturally...

I am thinking about dropping some of my IM accounts, ICQ and Yahoo IM in favor of only keeping my Jabber account.

Lately I have been getting spam from about 5 people or so daily, about half of them by the name of 'Natasha' (new accounts every time, I keep banning the old ones in my client). This is getting annoying since I mostly use...

After the mood that last video put me in (see my last post) I re-watched some of the other videos that made a real difference to me. One I can easily recommend to anyone is Wanderers: A Pale Blue Dot, a very nice video made out of audio of Carl Sagan reading his book. It is quite a bit longer than the other one...

I just found this amazing clip of Charlie Chaplin in "The Great Dictator", very moving and I simply had to share it. I will definitely watch the full film soon. I never knew he was more than a slapstick comedian.

Edit: For anyone else wondering about the music, it is from Dragonheart.
ceana:
That is so cool. I, like you, only ever associated him with slapstick. I will say though that the speech (though in a movie) is well put. I liked it. Good clip.

I also couldn't help but recognize the music towards the end of the speech... I think I remember it being in Dungeons and Dragons at the end (I could be wrong, but I've heard the song before). lol

I was thinking today...I still have trouble working on one particular project and even when I stay with one I get distracted by sites like reddit.com or this one.

I rarely have/had trouble focusing on e.g. leveling a character in a computer RPG though. This makes me wonder if if would be possible to invent some kind of reward system with experience points for those...

Since I left Second Life a few months ago I have been thinking about ideas for a game/3d environment that could replace the parts I liked about SL that aren't available in most/any other online games.

What I liked about it in general was the way it was very open to being used in ways the original designers never imagined. It gives the users a...

I just discovered Tim Minchin the other day and watched most of the videos I could find of his songs on Youtube.
He is such a great singer and has a nice mixture of silly and serious topics in his songs.

Some of my favourites:

Halleluja (duet with Geraldine Quinn)

Storm (poem with text)

Tony the fish & If you open your mind too much...

I don't really see the difference between "Tell us a little about yourself" and this field so I guess I will just say Hello here and if you want to know about me check out my profile where I suspect the contents of that field will end up.

Edit: Looks like that either got swallowed up by that error I got on the page where...
