It's very irritating not to be able to keep updating my journal here on a regular basis but it's an inconvenience that I'll have to deal with only a short while longer. A week from tomorrow, I'm moving back into my apartment.

This time away from home and on the couches of friends and family has allowed me to take a step back and really reflect on what's been happening in my life. I've realized many good things already. I was unsure just how much help I would get from friends and I've been moved by the number of people who've offered to lend a hand. I've had the opportunity to spend some amazing time with these people who I otherwise would have missed in the midst of everybody's hectic schedules. My life has turned into some big, long slumber party. And, I've had a chance to open up and speak honestly to my brother (what do I have to lose at this point?), to whom I've never been close. He's a great guy and now that we're adults, we can actually start building something of a relationship.

I don't think I would have gotten this perspective if I was still at home, uncomfortably sharing a space with her until she finally left. But I'm trying to be very Zen about my approach. There are only so many things that I can control and beyond that, my attitude toward the things that happen will dictate my own peace and serenity in life. I'm trying to take it all in stride, roll with them punches, and gracefully ride the ever-changing face of the wave.

PS: I'll be writing to everybody once I have my computer back. Right now, I've only got time to drop the occassional update but I promise I'm not a flake!

Finding Zen in this complex world is very... well complex. Yet, once found it seems like it was there all along. That gosh darn crazy Zen.
