Happy new year, everybody! I hope yall are still alive from whatever debauchery you may have wreaked upon your poor, hapless bodies. Despite prior plans to be in Santa Cruz, me and the ladyfriend decided to stay local and remain low key, which suited us just fine. Ive experienced some pretty insane New Years parties so I dont mind missing a year.

The interview in D.C. went better than perhaps Id hoped it would. A big part of me simply hopes that I dont get a job offer so I wont have to decide to move across the country. But, the opportunity is probably too big to pass up if it comes my way. The company is supposed to make a decision by Tuesday and my guess is that theyll make me an offer. I find this both exciting and terrifying at the same time.

I am, however, still grappling with this whole issue of panic attacks. Over the last week I finished reading a book entitled The Sky is Falling which really helped educate me about the extent of the problems caused by this disorder and the possible solutions. My health insurance covers more than Id expected, so Ill probably be on a dosage of new medication and some therapy very soon.

On that note, I think a big part of managing this problem is actually taking the time to acknowledge some of my accomplishments instead of always being so damned hard on myself. Regardless of your mental health, its probably a good idea to reflect on what youve done to provide perspective on your journeys. So, with the New Year of 2005, here are some of the things Im proud to have accomplished during the last 365 days:

I got the chance to do some work on Spider-man 2 and got a Sam Raimi autographed poster for my efforts.

Started a working relationship with Focus Features (Lost in Translation, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).

I started exercising regularly again. Like running three miles three times a week for almost 6 months now.

I took up surfing and had the chance to become good friends with bpd.

I got laid off from an old job but managed to start a new job in just 22 days.

I got the chance to meet Mtlqueen and Clovesbud and become good friends with both of them.

I quit smoking over 4 months ago.

Even though my car stereo got ripped off, the thieves didnt steal some of my favorite, and no longer in print albums including Liquorices Listening Cap.

Im getting newer job offers lined up within 6 months of landing this new job that pays for shit.

I get the chance to start having a real relationship with my brother, whos turned out to be a pretty good musician.

My resolution is to remember something I wrote a few months back: "Enjoy your life. If you aren't, you're probably wasting your time." Oh, and to finally make it to Burning Man this year!

To everybody here, thanks for reading and thanks for writing. I appreciate your thoughts and comments and hope to keep up with your lives.

Peace be with you.
