Gah! Damn NBC and and Medical Investigations!

In all seriousness, this is the reason I've been away from the things that matter to me most for the last three months. But check out the network, Fridays at 10PM. It was another late night at the office delivering the next episode. If the visual effects smack you upside the head with wonderment, you have me to thank. biggrin

Increasingly, I find it very, very difficult to talk politics. Maybe it's because this election has polarized us to the point that Hollywood citizens are admitting to being Republican. Politics seems to be the conversation du jour, a change with which, I should probably be happy.

It's just that I'm so frustrated by a system that I inherently know does not and is not truly capable of acknowledging our own individual views. Nor does it care to. Let me be frank: national politics amounts to little more in this country than a question of Coca-Cola versus Pepsi-Cola.

I know, I sound grumpy, jaded and cynical. Terribly so. And, yes, I would still rather see Kerry take the Oval Office than the Affable Chimp (pardon the pejoratives). But let's not forget we're talking about two people who represent two parties that want nothing more than to perpetuate the status quo of Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola. Preferably in their own favor, but ceratinly at the cost of any other entrants. Which, really, is quite convenient if you represent said parties:

Coke: If I get 50 percent and you get the other 50 percent, is that cool?

Pepsi: Cool, but only if we fight over the 10 percent in the middle and keep everybody else out of the picture. And not in that order.

I'd rather have fun, get ripped, and enjoy a good time.

On that note, I need two things. 1) Instructional DVDs on playing blues and/or country rhythms on guitar for my birthday or Christmas. 2) The Los Angeles Dodgers to win at least one game in the playoffs. Ideally, yeah, the National League pennant would be nice. But I'll take two games against the Cardinals at this point.

i do need to start exercising again...i was really good for a long time and even had a personal trainer. now, no trainer = no motivation. frown

basically i'm the admin/tech support for a couple of computer programs at *large cable channel owned by evil conglomerate*: one for production accounting and one that is used for scheduling nuts and bolts like editing, crews, etc. which is to say, i am a big nerd.
