So Avril Lavigne is nominated for five Grammy Awards which just really cracks me up. Over Christmas I asked Erin's 11-year-old niece what the last CD she got and the answer was, "Avril!"

From a marketing standpoint I suppose I understand what this is about. Hell, even the Mickey Mouse Club was a progenitor of this niche in children's marketing. The only difference is that the children these days are wearing fewer articles of clothing!

Los Angeles remains a ridiculous 80 degrees today and I'm looking foward to this changing, quite honestly. This is supposed to be a wet and cold El Nino year but so far we've seen little evidence of that happening.

I'm not sure if it's the weird weather, impending earthquakes or ghosts, but Chavez (my dog) was acting very strangely last night. He'll whine when he needs to go outside to pee but last night he just came over and plopped his fat head on my arm and wouldn't leave. I scratched his head awhile but he didn't start pacing like when he needs to go outside, he just sat right next to the bed. When I told him to go away he left momentarily, then came back again.

Dogs are strange creatures. I love them, even if I don't always understand them.

Q: What's your favorite time of year? Most definitely summer for me, although the constant temperatures in Los Angeles take away a little of the appreciation of actually having a warm season.

Word of the day: ubiquitous (adj.) - existing or being everywhere at the same time : constantly encountered.

I leave you with this picture of my refrigerator!
