trying to remember a poem about mancino (spelling?) cherries.
It's about this boy who has this unopened jar of cherries inthe fridge,and it seems like they've always been there, but they're perfectly preserved, bright red, glowing in the thick sweet syrup that he can almost taste; has never tasted.
He stares at the cherries, just dying to eat one.
But he never does.
The last line is:
"Because you do not eat that which crushes your heart with joy.'
I need to find it. I have to explain something.
