As the lady who loudly lambasted my laziness laid out, I did not actually set foot outside my apartment today. Instead I looked at webcomics & Flash versions of Wolfenstein. While I did print off some listings I wanted to look at, they have not moved from my printer.
well, the gears are marked, and I figured (D) was overdrive, but when I'm in regular drive, my engine sounds like it's in too low of a gear no matter what I do.
and the damn thing requires midgrade, so you know I do not appreciate the gas mileage I've been getting running around in overdrive!
Inventoried 20 more books with my handy-dandy Bluetooth scanner.
Finished installation of electric fans on the Faithful Steed.
Tested fans; fans failed to cool as well as old mechanical fan. There goes $350 & eight hours of labor. (On paper, 4600 CFM is nothing to sneeze at; in practice it's almost insignificant.)
Made experimental spaghetti sauce. Slightly too much... Read More
Sorry I didn't say anything to you when I left work friday. I was headed over to the hospital. I'm getting better thanks to my $80 bottle of pills (7) that they perscribed me, and most likely will bill me a fortune for the office visit.
On a slightly related note, one of my friends was hosipitalized in Japan while he was there on vacation. 3 days stay, meds, and emergency room visit for $150. I seem to think our costs here are a little high...
Friday--I got out of work late. 8:30 or so. A few minutes after I walked in the door, I was volunteered to be a taxi. I was unhappy. I returned a call. I was happy. I called the middle man of our trek & left a message. I took a shower. I drank a couple solutions of Vitamin... Read More
Tonight's culinary masterpiece came from SYH's own twisted bachelor mind: beefy baked beans (with extra onions ). I'm a big fan of meals I can make with just a spatula, a can opener, and a cast iron skillet.
Take one pound ground beef. I like 80/20. My friends like 90/10. For this dish, anything higher grade than 80/20 is wasted.

It's the country for me.
You're so near to Russia,
So far from Japan.
Quite a long way from Cairo,
Lots of miles from Vietnam.

Tonight I am spending listening to Abbot & Costello (and The Man of a Thousand Voices, Mel Blanc) and "familiarizing" myself with my Swedish typewriter. It's a Facit 1820. It's super spiffy.
Speaking of typewriters, my coworkers have officially dubbed me "odd" because I'm using a 1971 Smith-Corona Auto 12 for my timesheets & system inspection sheets. Pfft. My handwriting sucks. I know that. My... Read More
Its kinda funny, the past 2 nights I ate at this joint that serves Moraccan dishes. Reminds of Tangier, only with Macs, crappy music, crappy clientelle, and no young boy whores.
Great Food tho
