So, I guess I jinxed the whole weather thing: yesterday, it was sunny and warm -- today, wet and cold as fuck. Should have kept my mouth shut.

Some friends of mine recently adopted a Chinese baby, and they got back to the states with their new little girl today. I say "new," but she's a year old (today, coincidentally). Cute as a button. They...

The weather around here is seriously messed up. Last week, it was cold and wintery, with a little rain and snow here and there. Now, it's sunny and warm -- the high has been in the upper 60s. Very un-February like weather. I suppose I shouldn't complain, as I'm getting to sit outside at a coffee shop right now, but I can't help but wait...

So, I find myself in Sarasota, Fl for the day. I came down here to audition some singers for my opera company. It's a nice enough town, if you're a beach person. Of course, it's raining, just like at home. But I did get to go and stand on the beach for a minute, just to see the ocean. Seemed like a shame to come...

Ugh. I'm sick. Not surprising -- this often happens after I finish a show. After three or four solid weeks of sleep deprivation, hard work, and malnutrition, my body decides to take a little revenge. Hope this one is short-lived.

In better news, go see Winnie's new set -- she's as hot as she is cool. (wait, does that make sense? Never mind, I'm...

So...

The opera is over. It ended up being a pretty good production. I even had a brief cameo -- the director decided he wanted a crotchety old (non-singing) gardnener in one scene -- and then decided that it had to be me. I even got to upstage the tenor. I'll post a picture as soon as I get one.

Now I have two weeks...

yay for upstaging! inspiration always comes for me, in the most non-arty things. then i look back on them and realize how awesome they were. did that make any sense?

Gasp -- I've finally come up for air!

I feel like I haven't been around here in ages. So many new girls, so much going on -- I'm way behind.

Work is consuming my life -- I've been in opera rehearsal for nearly 12 hours every day for the past week and a half. Things are going very well, but it's exhausting. The performers have...

NICHOLAS WAS . . .

older than sin, and his beard could grow no whiter.

He wanted to die.

The dwarfish natives of the Arctic caverns did not speak his language, but conversed in their own, twittering tongue, conducted incomprehensible rituals, when they were not actually working in the factories.

Once every year they forced him, sobbing and protesting, into Endless Night. During the journey...

So, I finally attended my first local SG event last night -- met up with SouthernBelle, SteveNeurotic and Frost for beer and wings at Hooters. Both Frost and SteveNeurotic were Hooters virgins -- although I think the experience was enough to convince them they hadn't been missing anything. Funny, for a Hooters, there were surprisingly few of them present (hooters, that is) -- Frost...
