I know I just talked to you a little bit ago but thought I'd say "Hi" anyway. Gotta get ready to go to my local pub - I was gonna ride my friend's bicycle up there and return it to him (I have 2 of my own but his ended up at my house) but when I called to see if h ws there the owner asked if I would play a solo gig tonight 'cause the scheduled band cancelled. It was an alternative ban, so I'm quickly brushing up on some Puddle of Mudd, Chili Peppers, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback, Foo Fighters, and other stuff the crowd might accept in lieu of the band they came to see. I have about half hour to rehearse to play from 9 to 1:30. Aaack. I always just wing it and use no setlist and rehearse only the songs I'm sure I'm NOT going to play, but this is crowd, being deprived of the band it wants to see, might prefer the fill-in to play at least music in a similar genre. I'm gonna prbably do some Dead Kennedys and Ramones too. Maybe Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre. Maybe Cab Calloway's Minnie the Moocher.
Fuck it! I'll play what I damn well please!
I can't carry an acoustic guitar, and an electric on a bike, so guess 4 wheels will suffice. I won't bring any other instruments, and I'll use the karaoke girl's amps (she does sets with me all the time, and though she's not gonna be there tonight, her stuff will be, so I'll tap her shit.).

Anyway, wish me luck. My last setlist is posted in my journal last week, but I hardly ever do a song two shows in a row. Many I only ever do once.

I'll be ther around 9:30, mostly on the dance floor bouncing around like a madman, hanging with two or more adorable redheads and a asian rockabilly dude as well. did i mention admission is only $5 if you say you wanna hit the record hop only? Cool!
