A long weekend approaches and, in 24 hours, I'll heading to the hot & humid middle of the country for my friends' wedding reception (they were married a few months ago in a small ceremony). Being away from the office for 5 days sounds good to me.
As you might recall, I threatened myself a few months back that, if I didn't get to a certain weight level by the time this trip happened, I would donate a substantial check to the (*yecch*) Republican National Committee. I'm relieved to report that no check will need be written. For the first time in a couple of years, I think, my driver's licence weight is correct!
Oh, and I'm kind of a knucklehead: while I have no idea where my old work ID went, the jar of quarters that I thought had been stolen at Sea-Tac Airport turned up in my friend Charlene's car. She reasonably figured that I would glad to hear that I hadn't been the victim of vandalism for a second time, but I was too self-involved to get beyond my status as the boy who cried wolf. I mean, come on, now...vegans, in particular, aren't supposed to have *egg* on their faces!
