I think that those who made Zodiac would have been well-served to cut 20-30 minutes from the film. The makers of The Host should have shaved off 5-10 minutes. But Blacula and the original Planet of the Apes are just fine as they are. Admittedly, I wasn't sure about that jerk Dr. Zaius at first, but his anti-human perspective helped validate him by the end.



Unlike the conscientious basil123 (whose accent is nothing short of excellent, by the way), I haven't more than a few pictures from my youth scanned, but this is one of my favourite photos from my childhood.



This photo was taken at my grandfather's house in St. Croix, USVI in the late 1970s (note the old school Star Wars shirt) with his dog Missy. I haven't taken as good a photo since. I suspect that this, too, has been posted before, but you should never forget that I rely solely on gimmicks, smoke, and mirrors to make these entries worthwhile!

I've had a very good week and a lazy Sunday, but I can't say that anything especially notable comes to mind for the blog. Thus, instead, I'll direct you to some others' blogs.
