Greetings and salutations, dear readers---can you believe that the year is 1/24 over already? Where does the time go?

The second weekend in Palm Springs was just as terrific (if not moreso) than the first. Granted, the weather was distinctly cooler, but two sunny days in the recuperative waters in Desert Hot Springs would be a highlight for any trip. Palm Springs has clearly become one of my favourite spots to visit: its laid-back nature, consistently blue skies, and relatively easy access from Seattle make for an excellent place to visit during the winter. Earned air miles and free accommodations help to make the visits affordable. Sweet!

One more review from the PSIFF: HolaGatita and I both give a strong thumbs up to the movie Severance. I would give you a detailed description, but that might, as is often the case, take away from the pleasure of seeing it all unfold in the theater. In short, it's a story about a group of co-workers on a trip in eastern Europe that goes awry. It's not a comedy and it's not a horror, but it certainly has elements of both. If you get the chance to see it, you should. So there.

I perceive that many people throughout the country see Martin Luther King Day as a 'black' holiday. That's a damn shame. Today (and everyday), we should remember and celebrate the efforts of this great man as well as all of those who have helped to make this a better nation more dedicated to its theoretical principles. His words *almost* give me a chance to forgot about who's living at 1600 Pennsylvania at the moment...

You're very welcome.

Try this. I always thought Susanna Hoffs was underrated. robot
