I was sent home from the jury pool this morning at 10:30 am, saw Jackass 2 with HolaGatita, and will be getting at least one more day away from the office since I'm required to go back to court tomorrow morning at 8:45 am. I can't complain about my Monday. Not at all. 
Some of the highlights of the trip to Chicago:
* Seeing the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers at the Siskel Center: what a terrific old film that is and it was a fine venue, as well.
* The Field Museum's collection of dinosaur bones is quite impressive. I wish that my dino-appreciating nephew had the chance to see Sue, but I'm not expecting that he'll be in the Midwest any time soon.
* The BBQ twist at Soul Vegetarian and the vanilla OJ shake at Chicago Diner: for all that I consumed in the Windy City, these two are Pantheon-level. SO frigging good and I highly recommend both for vegans, ominvores, and everyone else in between.
* Taking the Milwaukee bus while our friends walked: we were able to order tostones while they walked. Haha, the fools!!
Catching up with friends was good, too, but, honestly, I was a little disappointed that they seem to feel an low-level dislike of SuicideGirls.
My friends hardly need to like what I like, but I'm not sure what to think when they express a seeming disrespect. I've signed up for porn sites in the past and I'm pretty much certain that some people whom I consider friends would think less of me accordingly.
