I'm looking forward to the weekend and, yes, the first Sunday of the NFL season. I don't often feel like a 'typical' American, but, when it comes to appreciation for that distinctly homoerotic game with the reactionary, conformist culture, I'm right there with Joe Six-Pack.



I received an e-mail this evening from friends with whom I haven't spoken in over 3 years. I was very much pleased to hear from them. With no slight to their home city of Cincinnati, let's hope that they'll come to visit Seattle at some point.



Life with an improved automobile is good. I still don't expect to drive too much in general, but I'm angling to go on a worthwhile road trip with HolaGatita at some point in the fall. Portland and western Montana are the two likeliest destinations, but I'm open to suggestions.



Is there a food better than spinach pie? I'm really not sure that there is.



Doesn't this sound like a great way to see one of the best places in the world to visit?
