The old purply Ford Escort has been traded along with monetary considerations for a cactus-coloured 2007 Toyota Corolla. Let there be years of smooth driving ahead.

Friends from away were in Seattle over the weekend. A day at Bumbershoot seeing Blondie and roller derby, a day traipsing all over the city, and one day at Snoqualmie Falls comprised their trip. They seem to have enjoyed their time here and I always love when people visit.

I don't lament the passage of time per se, but I do lament that the days of going to north Wales to visit my grandmother are done. I plan to be back there at some point, but the jadedness of adulthood will now forever exceed the simple pleasures I took (and sugar tolerance I developed) in my formative years from gulping glass after glass of Ribena. Reading my 1983 travel journal and watching episodes of The Young Ones won't give me the chance to go back to her old flat on Caernarfon Road. Then again, no harm in trying! wink

Picture an individual with sufficient wealth to enable complete financial security for the rest of your days. Picture this person being someone whom you like only slightly beyond the level of indifference. If you knew that you could have complete freedom to spend your time as you wish if you agreed to become a trophy spouse, would you?
