I don't want to speak too soon, but, apparently, the predictions of a large East Coast tsunami set for the end of May appear to have been false. Yes, the world may well be doomed, but I, for one, am pleased that its demise isn't quite here just yet.

Hmmm, what does one write when nothing much is new in life? Nothing, of course, except for the case of World Cup fever I have.

I had been planning to visit New York / New Jersey this past weekend before physical unpleasantness intervened and I remained in Seattle instead. Admittedly, I would have enjoyed seeing the friends and family I have back east, but I think that it was just as well that I stayed home: traveling when infirmed is best avoided as much as possible.

That bowl of cereal I just had was not enough. My gastronomic rapacity knows no satiety.

The longest day of the year will be here shortly. The descent towards winter is at hand. Exciting, no?!
