Well, I'm back from the Symposum in Las Vegas. On this short trip, I learned the following:

* Hotel rooms on the Strip are just so ridiculously priced. Thank you, my employer, for picking up the tab.

* Socialising among a group of people who work in healthcare finance (all but 2 of whom I don't know) is not something I do easily. Or, in this instance, at all. I chose to do my own thing (aside from seeing a show with my former co-worker Sheila) and, really, I couldn't imagine myself staying at Caesars and schmoozing for much of the conference.

* I almost caused an accident on Spring Mountain Road today. Damn that allure of Ronald's Donuts---it almost resulted in major problems (thankfully, the other driver was alert and avoided the potential accident).

* Aside from laying down a futures bet for my former co-worker Elizabeth, I didn't gamble at all.

* Yes, I *do* need to start being productive at work, but a two-day work week is still pretty good.
